HAMPEQ

ANA LUNA

Hello, Greetings, Saludos, Noccan Kani, I am Dr. Laura Liliana Luna; Ana, born and raised in Southern California by my mother from Michoacán, MX and my father from Barstow, Ca. My grandparents are from Zacatecas, Jalisco and Michoacán and I am a mixed Indigenous descendant of Chichimecas and Purépechas; a Xicana living between Southern California and Northern Nevada. On my maternal grandfather’s side, I am innately rooted to a lineage of Curanderos and Curanderas.

My spiritual journey brought me to experiencing Native American healing practices where I found something deeply resonant and heartfelt; my ancestral memories began to spark. I was able to travel to other realms of awareness to transmute the heavy energy or hucha in my lineage; ancestral karma, generational trauma, and my personal present life and past life traumas in very profound ways. While I was studying for my doctorate degree in Counseling Psychology in New Mexico, I was guided by spirit to a Rite’s of passage ceremony in the White Mountain Apache way; years later I committed to my four year hambleceya (Lakota vision quest) ceremony where I was given the responsibility of carrying chanupa; I was later also initiated to pour women’s sweat lodge ceremony. In 2009, I became a member of the Native American Church and devoted myself to community healing ceremonies.  Prayer ceremonies brought me to understand that I was committing to living a life of ceremony, prayer and deep communion with the natural elements in relation with the 4 sacred directions. I became a Reiki Master (2011), a Yoga Teacher (2014), initiated in the Munay-Ki lineage (2010) and more recently was initiated as Hampeq (October 2024) with Andres at Pachamama in the lineage of Huascar & Q’ero Wisdom Keepers. I have spent over 15 years studying the healing arts in traditional Indigenous practices, experienced several plant dietas in South America and many Native American traditional ceremonies in the North. My ancestors continue to guide me and whisper to me ‘gifts are meant to be shared’ –the time is now—I am grateful to be in service and to continue to grow and learn in my path as a healer and medicine woman.
